Following a recent story about our changing room policy at Wai o Rua, we want to provide some clarity about our policy, so you know what to expect when you visit.
When we are hosting school lessons, the main changing rooms will be closed while school children are getting changed for approximately 15 minutes before and after their lessons, but they will be open to other swimmers during the lessons.
While the changing rooms are closed for these short periods, there are six individual and fully accessible changing rooms for public use, three of which include a shower, toilet, and baby changing table.
We’re committed to protecting our vulnerable young people and conscious about providing alternatives to make sure our facility can cater to everyone. For anyone that hasn’t had the opportunity to visit our wonderful facility yet, visit the Wai o Rua website for a peek of what it offers.
