Aquatic Programmes
Interested in bringing your school, community group or organization to the pool?
We have a range of programmes catered for a groups of any size and would love to have you and your tamariki visit.
Programmes include but are not limited to:
- Learn to Swim
- Water Safety Programmes - Basic Water Safety, Boat and River safety (see below).
- Water Polo
- Aqua Group Fitness
- Snorkeling
- Wai Play
Coast Guard Safe Boating Programme
Wai O Rua - Stratford Aquatic Centre is proud to offer the Coastguard Boating Education Programme. This programme is an introductory programme suited for 8–14-year-old. The Coastguard Boating Education programme provides a practical in-water experience for participants to gain the skills and confidence to fit their own lifejacket, to carry out rescue techniques to aid those in need and the damaging effects hypothermia can have on someone. Our team are qualified to teach this course. Course length is approx 4 hours.
This program is aligned with Coastguard New Zealand, which means once pupils complete the course, they are presented with a certificate.
River Safety Programme
Our River Safety Course has been carefully put together to ensure participants learn the key dangers around rivers. Participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to be safe in, on and around rivers. Course Length is approx 2 hours.
